Which rotor type?
Pick the type by what you need at the end of the run.
Angle rotor
Tubes sit at a fixed angle. The fastest option; the pellet forms on the tube wall.
Swing rotor
Buckets swing out level. A flat pellet at the bottom; best for blood, layers and large volumes.
Microplate rotor
Carries 96-well plates flat for plate washing and assay prep.

A high-torque AC variable-frequency motor handles full 4-bucket loads. The refrigerated model holds −20 to +40 °C with CFC-free R404A.

Speed or force: know the difference
Protocols are written in × g because force, not speed, does the separating. The same rpm gives more force in a larger rotor.
Example: the 6 × 500 ml rotor at 5000 rpm, r ≈ 166 mm, gives 4640 × g.

Refrigerated or not?
DL-5M is refrigerated from −20 to +40 °C. D5B has no compressor and runs at room temperature, which suits samples that do not need cooling.
Which rotor for blood bags or bottles?
The 4 × 1000 ml swing rotor takes 1000 ml PE bottles; 750 ml and 500 ml buckets also take bottles and tube adapters.
Which rotor for blood collection tubes?
Use the 4 × 750 ml rotor with 4 × 24 × 5/7 ml adapters, or the square buckets with 4 × 28 × 5 ml.
What power supply does it need?
AC 220 V, 50–60 Hz. DL-5M uses 2 kW; D5B uses 1.5 kW.
