Angle rotor
Tubes sit at a fixed angle. The fastest option; the pellet forms on the tube wall.
Swing rotor
Buckets swing out level. A flat pellet at the bottom; best for blood, layers and large volumes.

Speed or force: know the difference
Protocols are written in × g because force, not speed, does the separating. The same rpm gives more force in a larger rotor.
Example: the 12 × 1.5/2.2 ml rotor at 21,000 rpm, r ≈ 62 mm, gives 30,642 × g.

Can one machine handle micro tubes and large bottles?
Yes. Angle rotors run micro and conical tubes up to 21,000 rpm; swing rotors take up to 4 × 750 ml at 4000 rpm.
Which rotor for blood collection tubes?
Use a swing rotor with vacuum-tube adapters, for example 4 × 24 × 5/7 ml in the 750 ml buckets.
Should I set rpm or × g?
Either. The centrifuge converts between them in real time for the fitted rotor.
What power supply does it need?
