    120V Constraints: Standard residential and light laboratory circuits in North America are typically protected by 15~20A circuit breakers.


    Electrical codes (like the US NEC) often require derating the breaker capacity to 80% for continuous running loads (over 3 hours). This means 50A would require a circuit breaker near 70A, which is highly unusual and costly for a single-phase 110V installation.

    Wiring and Material Cost

    Higher current requires significantly thicker gauge wiring to safely carry the 50A without overheating (typically 4 or 6 AWG wire, depending on factors).
